Yasinda doesn't waiver. She would have risen through the ranks with her nerves of steal and her brain, if she was more obedient. But she owed this many no allegiance, Yasinda had won her war already, the remnants were here scattered before her. "I won't be a puppet ever again," were the only words she offered for her misconduct, releasing the gun calmly. She stares at the initiate, not running or fleeing for her life, she waits for death. Welcomes it if this had been her only option, to serve a man who's pride made him feel entitled to rule or death. She'd choose death every time.

Snap a sharp salute, about face, and just walk away. Yasinda knew what to do, it was the right thing to do. It was what she always did, the right, appropriate mannerisms. Get to the back of the line and just follow orders, continue to live this lifeless, mundane life that she had fled to. There was no place for her here, that man had made that clear. She looks back briefly at the fellow Initiates, the ones like her that were being treated like nothing but pawns for some one else's gain. She should just return with them, do the grunt work once more... Fuck it. I've lost too much to be a Dog again. She takes out her pistol with a natural motion, she fires one shot into the air and then points right at Atrox. Glaring past his attack dogs, her hand doesn't shake, similar to her gaze as she levels the barrel on the man. "You wish to be a leader yet you don't address your people? Are we that insignificant to you? But maybe if I was one of your 'brothers or sisters' I would be worthy of your time, is that it? You look down upon us, but it was the Republic that drove you here. And all you demand are words for us to obey you, a disgusting display of power to show what? That if we don't fall in line and be your pawns then you'll kill us? Show them then. Show them what sort of leader you are." What happened when the water was rippled? She was certainly finding out, there was a slight thrill to pointing a gun at a Force user again, reminding them just how mortal they truly are. One shot, it was all she needed.

To Yasinda and the few that had no Force affinity, all they see is some sort of spectacle, a display of power that is supposed to be imposing? Yasinda makes it a common practice not to feel emotions, Sith had a habit of manipulating them, at least that’s what she had learned as a Republic trooper. “Like water, reflective, yet still. But what happens once rippled?” She knows this...ghost-thing is meant for her, or at least those like her. She looks to Master Rohl, as though offering him an apologetic look since he was the closest thing she had to a commanding officer. She steps forward, no doubt a bit comical that Yasinda would believe she could stand up to a Sith. Still, the Mirialan moves confidently forward, though stops a respectable distance as to not seem a threat. She is armed, openly, with her blaster pistol but she knows for a fact that even her quick aim would fall short to a Sith. “Private Jax, sir, permission to speak freely?” She salutes and addresses the one who demands obedience. (Posted on my phone so forgive any mistakes.)

Interesting. Yasinda listens without directly looking at the man, taking in every detail. This was what she wanted, after all. One man could reign prosperity, very few Kings were tyrants. But almost every 'democracy' that preached 'diplomacy' eventually decayed into corruption, each individual fighting for the whole quickly became nothing more than rich frauds. And the fools that would still support them were nothing more than ants, mindless creatures. But one man, an Emperor, would look out for himself, and his Empire that thrived was the Empire that would keep him most protected... But Yasinda had her doubts about putting this man into such power, he arrived acting entitled. Considering how many others seemed to respect him though she assumed he was some sort of big deal. Regardless, his words for the Sith were just that, for the Sith. She scoffs quietly, immediate distrust forming. She crosses her arms, she doesn't join in the cheering, but even if she did fully agree and trust this man, Yasinda wasn't one much for cheering. She looked at this man, he was no King. He was a Bishop. But he'd pave the way for her King, already her mind was working, looking for one that might rise against him and be worthy of her time.

She stands stiffly at attention, eyes forward and hardly blinking as he speaks. When given orders to do her task, she finally relaxes and looks at what's displayed on his desk for her to begin working with. Yasinda knows a pistol inside and out, it's familiar to her. She first picks the pieces from the 'lightfoil' carefully, basically any piece she doesn't recognize she slides to the side of the desk as she carefully begins assembling the outer workings of a pistol rather quickly and easily. Why is this place so messy? Who can think with all of this junk. Her mouth twitches in irritation as she seems to momentarily distract her own self from the mess, she sets down the incomplete pistol and begins moving around the room. At first it merely looks like she's cleaning, but as she pulls out a few screws and springs from the mess that she's also cleaning and organizing, she reveals that she was actually looking for what she needed. Finishing with the pistol by the time that Kai announces what she wishes to learn, she snaps a cartridge into place and offers it to Master Rohl for inspection, barrel facing Yasinda with confidence. Once he takes it she looks at the pieces, sliding them gently on the desk, seeming to try and make a blue print of what this lightfoil is supposed to look like...she looks around the room quietly and then spots Kai's vibroblade. Without even thinking she approaches her and goes to take it.

Yasinda was at the shooting range, it wouldn't do her any good to get loose in the few skills she could offer to the Empire. She fired each shot, hand slightly relaxed, just enough for the recoil to hit back, but not enough for it to fly loose. Click. She reloads without removing her gaze from down range, one fluid motion, dropping the empty clip and replacing it with her non-dominant hand with ease. The motion is practiced, refined, 'muscle memory' doesn't even give the motion justice, she's a machine. She keeps shooting, making certain her posture is relaxed, it's the most relaxed she's looked since she's arrived here. But there is a slight tension in her mouth...her mind is not relaxed, she's bored. "Boredom is dangerous for you, isn't it, Jax?" Her mind is beginning to wander and she pauses for a brief moment as the clip is empty once more. The slightest bit of hesitation, she surveys the range, looking for someone. Not seeing anyone she replaces the clip again, that same fluid motion. "Steady hands, even when you were a rook. I was always surprised you had steady hands, Jax, but you're the type I'd like to have at my side rather than some trigger-happy dog." Her shot goes terribly off, hitting the back wall for a moment, making her cringe. The droid touches her, she turns sharply and fires instinctively at being disturbed. If the droid didn't have such quick reflexes she'd probably have blown his head off, instead there's a small mark on the ground as the droid looks rather annoyed at her. Yasinda removes her ear plugs. "You startled me," she doesn't offer an apology, as she places the gun down carefully. "My Master wishes to speak with you, Private Ya-," the droid doesn't apologize either, it has a hint of annoyance. "Jax," she corrects sternly, she gives her full attention to the droid, "Who is your Master?" "And what would be the fun in telling- WHOA-" the droid puts up his hands as Yasinda grabs her pistol and points it at the droid, glaring. "It's Master Rohl!" Yasinda pulls the trigger. Click. She fastens it, and grabs a full clip, putting it in a seperate pocket of her pants. She walks around the droid and heads to Rohl's office. She knocks and waits to be granted, entering she gives a sharp salute, unable to break old habits. "Jax reporting, sir."
  7. Yasinda Jax

Fleeing from war, Yasinda's parents believed they found refuge on Coruscant that hailed to protect those that wished to live peaceful lives, with no where else to turn to. Escaping the war between Republic and Empire, Yasinda grew up with the war between Law Enforcers and Drug Cartels instead. Her and her younger brother couldn't play out on the streets like they used to, were forbidden from answering the door, and were told to stay out of sight and to not be noticed. They lived poor lives and were constantly hungry. From a young age Yasinda learned to cheat and steal in an effort to help her family. Sick of it though, she joined the Republic Military when she became older, a steady income to support her family. Yasinda started as a private, she did her grunt work and showed her COs that she was dedicated and worth investigating time in. Over time as they witnessed her combat skills and her ability to adapt quickly in various situations, she was quickly promoted to lead her own squadron. Her tactics though, as the war effort went on, became more and more desperate. They were effective but even the Republic were having a difficult time ignoring her sacrificial tactics for victory. When the war concluded, Yasinda returns home, a matured adult to visit her family. Only to find that they were sold into slavery, her credits she was putting in her family back account was going to a drug cartel. With no ability to find her family, she turned to the law enforcement, but was given little help. Even those in the Military she respected could do nothing for her. The Senate that promised prosperiety and peace among everyone, ignored the outcries of not just Yasinda, but others in a similar situationa s herself. Disgusted that everything she fought for had gone to waste, she left for the outer reaches, looking to outdo just what she had been a part of.
  8. Application: Yasinda Jax- Approved

Just in case it was missed - I have completed your edits / suggestions. Please let me know if there's anything else you'd like me to do, or clarify =) Looking forward to it.
  9. Welcome to Star Wars: Fates! How did you find us? Were you recommended? If so, by whom? I was recommended by Ellina / Varia Octarian. Tell us a little about yourself! Where are you from? How old are you? Do you have any prior experience with fanfiction or roleplaying in general? Since I'm a part of the generation that is suspicious of the internet: I am from the US and am an adult. I have a lot of experience with fanfiction and roleplaying. I don't do much fanfiction writing anymore, but I roleplay quite a bit (D&D, Pathfinder, L5R). Have you ever been a part of a roleplaying community or guild in the past? If so, which ones? I have but I'd rather not go into too much details about that, if you would prefer more information on that I can speak to you through PMs but I'd rather it not be publicly advertised just yet. What is the most important thing for you to get out of your experience here? Exciting stories with interesting characters? Good friends? A sense of belonging? My own expectations for roleplaying have greatly matured, I want an interesting stories that have agency and to have a characters that I help develop and that allow my character to develop. This is something that I've seen in the past that is rather difficult to achieve with out a GM/DM. I promise I'm open-minded though and eager to hopefully be a part of a fun experience and give an enjoyable experience to others. Do you know what a Mary/Gary Stu is? Metagaming? God Modding? Provide a quick definition of each, because all of the aforementioned are against the rules, will you or you character have trouble conforming to this? Mary/Gary is a character with no faults, or who has "faults" (faults that aren't really faults. Ie, clumsy around vampires and so I cut myself when I trip and gain a bunch of attention, super intelligent guy, who also has a black belt and can defend himself, etc). Metagaming is when a character knows something they shouldn't know, usually obtained by OOC knowledge somehow. God Modding, in the simplest terms, is moving someone's character without their permission, typically in such a way that they might want to react differently. How much time will you be willing to commit to the community? Do you forsee your schedule getting in the way of things? Doubtful, I think I could always pop in for at least an hour every day, and I see you guys have the "Check In / Out" so I shall be certain to utilize that. Can you give us a quick run down of the biography and character you hope to RP on this site? A quick idea of a biography, type of character they are, and whether they might be aligned with the Sith Remnant, or the Unified Jedi Order. I'm super creative (and humble too lol), so I try to see what is sort of "needed". So far I'm being told that the Sith need help, I'll probably look around before I settle on one idea. One character I thought of starting with is an ex-Republic trooper who sees the greed of the democracy, always preaching to look out for those who are weak, but getting their pay checks in comfy estates - she instead goes goes to the Empire. Another is a manipulator who merely wants to rise through the ranks for her own survival, the weak are belittled and beaten, she wants a place of power. Do you have any lingering questions or concerns? A member of our staff will be happy to answer anything that comes to mind. No, I do not. Would you like to provide any closing comments on your application? On behalf of the staff of Star Wars: Fates and the entire community, we wish you luck and may the Force Be With You! Looking forward to it, as well. Character Application Name: Yasinda Jax Gender: Female Species: Mirialan ( https://i.imgur.com/gOycGSJ.jpg ) Rank: (The rank of your character, and/or Force rank based on their strength in the Force and availability of teachings) Date of Birth: (Staff can assist with this, basically take the character's age and add it to the current year located on the front page.) Appearance: Yasinda's skin color is warm green with awkward tan lines. One being against her wrists, another being below below her breasts from when she was stationed on hotter planets and the best way to beat the heat was minimal clothing. She has bright green eyes, and brown hair, that's highlighted from the time she's spent in the sun, though the color is fading as her last tour was spent on a cold planet. Yasinda typically wears her hair in a pony tail, or messy bun, in some sort of way to tell others that she should be taken seriously since she doesn't waste time with appearances. She is physically fit, she's built lean muscle on her body and shows off her agility well. She's a bit tall, about 5'8" in her boots, and weighs about 130lbs. Her body is littered with scars, her back suffering a few severe burns, causing the skin tone to appear a bit lighter than the rest of her skin as well. In tradition of the Mirialan, Yasinda has black tattoos over her right eye, starting from her hairline and going to her cheek (not on the picture). Fighting Attire ( https://i.imgur.com/fL5wMnr.jpg ) Casual Attire ( https://i.imgur.com/cP8ciYn.png ) Possessions: Yasinda owns her own armor (shown above) and her own hand gun (or blaster). She also has casual, civilian clothing so she doesn't stand out in armor. Personality: Yasinda is a hardened tactician, she rose quickly through the ranks of the Republic Military for being able to keep a cool, level head during dangerous and often times chaotic situations, and due to her controversial tactics. Often times her ruthless tactics would employ traps, stealth, and some times use fellow troops, squadrons as mere distractions to gain an advantage. She makes it a practice of not showing emotion to the point where she doesn't even understand what she feels as well. She looks as people as tools for her victory. Skills, Abilities and Talents: Strengths Intelligent Tactics Handguns Average Athletics Armed Combat Unarmed Combat Medicine Weakness Flying (Knowledge, Motion Sick) Engineering (Mechanics) Physical Strength Biography: Fleeing from war, Yasinda's parents believed they found refuge on Coruscant that hailed to protect those that wished to live peaceful lives, with no where else to turn to. 10. Introductions

Actually if I can get some insight from the Imperial side this would be great: Trooper or Sith?
  11. Introductions

Greetings. Just getting my bearings here, not sure if I'll be here to roleplay (gasp) or not. Probably end up roleplaying lol But message me if you'd like to talk, or discord. I've been informed the Sith are in need of members. So I'll no doubt be checking that part of the site more.
